2025 Huntington St. Patrick's Day parade Grand Marshal

NEW YORK STATE ASSEMBLYMAN, KEITH P. BROWN.

On November 3, 2020, Keith P. Brown won his election to the New York State Assembly to represent parts of Huntington, Babylon and Islip.

Leveraging his legal insight and background in small business, Keith works to bolster the small business community and propel economic growth across Long Island. His work addresses present challenges and paves the way for future prosperity.

With a family rooted in law enforcement, Keith possesses insight into the complexities associated with New York’s recent criminal justice reforms. In his dedication to community safety, he has fought to reinstate greater judicial discretion and repeal bail reform measures.

Keith’s commitment extends beyond law and order. He supports lowering taxes, fostering a cleaner Long Island Sound and attracting increased state investment to tackle stormwater and sewer infrastructure needs. Keith has accomplished this by leveraging grants and co-authoring an essay on the proposed Suffolk County Sewer Commission.

As Ranker of the Assembly Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, he fights to strengthen the system of care for mental illnesses and substance use disorders, protect teens and reduce the number of suicide and overdoses through prevention, treatment and recovery to combat the opioid/fentanyl crisis.

Keith graduated from SUNY Albany, held an internship in the New York State Senate, graduated from Touro College Law Center, and now serves as Vice-Chair of the Touro Institute on Land Use and Sustainable Development. He served as Assistant Attorney General in the Litigation Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General, where he defended the state in federal and state courts.

As a founding partner of Brown & Altman, LLP, Keith represents diverse corporate clients in complex real estate matters, such as zoning and land-use regulation, environmental law, financing, etc.

Keith, along with his wife Barbara and their three children, call Northport home—a place where they are committed to shaping a brighter future for their community.
